IMO these are the three main areas that need to be addressed in the draft or free agency, in order of priority:

1. Safety - Roman Harper is a pretty good run stopper however is coverage skills are lacking. We need to upgrade that position with young hard hitting cover guy. I know that combination doesn't come around often but there's got to be a kid in the first round with those skills.

2. D-line. I don't care if it's DT or DE, we just need some new blood in the rotation to contribute and help keep the other guys fresh.

3. OL - We need to shore up the RT position. The RT position was way too inconsistent this year.

I agree. Maybe a corner too but we're deeper at corner than safety or DL

Uh no.

1. Pass Rusher
2. OLB
3. OL and Safety I would put both 3rd

You're right about OLB. It seems like that position has always been a position of need since CSP took the helm.

I could definitely be persuaded to reprioritize depending on the personnel available.

We will probably have to trade down and/or give up a player to get the 2nd round back. Unless, of course Hitler gives it back to us.

Pass rusher is without a doubt the saints #1 need. It isn't even debatable.

I like OLB too. As long as they pick the best defensive player available and don't go full retard and pick WR or something ill be happy.

Actually I like this list better. Except I'm in the minority in thinking we don't need LT help that much. Unless Bushrod decides to bolt, but I'm not assuming that. We need an OLB worth a damn considering how many outside runs we give up.

1. Pass rusher
2. OLB (i miss you fujita)
3. OT
4. Safety/Corner

with a better pass rush, I think our safety/corner play will be better. look at the tampa game, they put ample pressure on freeman and he threw some bad passes which resulted in some nice picks.

Wouldn't it be great to have great db play no matter what along with a pass rush

An OT would be nice, but it's a luxury type pick. It's pretty far down the list to me. With Payton back next year the offense will be fine. The hiccups that we saw this year will be mostly smoothed out.

The offense this year really wasn't much to complain about besides the interceptions. I think that the success that we have had on offense the past several years has spoiled the fans. Every drive that the saints don't score on, it just feels like something is going horribly wrong.

To have a godly, best of all time type offense we could use an OT and speed receiver. We don't need that though. We just need a passable defense.

1) DE/OLB - We need someone who can create a pass rush. Will Smith and the OLB positions need to be upgraded. Good news: Lots of DE options in FA & the Draft. Bad News: Not a ton of OLB options In FA or the Draft.

2) Offensive Tackle - Strief/Bushrod can be upgraded as well. Brown did ok, but he was injured a lot and a stalwart LT would be nice.

3) Safety - Harper isn't as bad as people say. But he's getting older and expensive. I'd really like to sign Moore as a FA.

4) DT - Ellis is gone, and good riddance! I like Hicks and Bunkley, but I don't think Bunkley is the long term option. Especially if we can get someone good to go along with Hicks.

5) Kicker - Don't cry emo kicker.

6) CB - Greer, PRob, Mack & White have talent, but Greer is getting older and a future replacement would be nice to have.

7) WR/TE - Not a need, but I'm sure a compliment to Graham or a younger Moore/Henderson would be nice to have to groom. (I consider Toon the grooming version of Colston)

8) QB - Not a need either, but a QB of the future would be nice. Although I think we can wait another year or two.

we had some hickups in 2011 when the tackle position struggled. I see that as the #1 priority, but hopefully we have someone in house or we like someone later in the draft. Protecting brees should always be the #1 concern

I just don't see how Payton being back will make Strief block better and Bushrod may be too expensive

It won't, but it will help overall offensive production. As long as brees doesn't grt hurt that's all that matters at the end of the day anyway. If bushrod leaves then OT becomes much more of a concern. We'll see how that one plays out.
