also while aTm does have the best QB in the country they have some replacing to do

5 seniors on defense (starting)

6 seniors on offense (starting)

3 juniors on both defense and offense.

so at best aTm has 6 returing starters on D

5 returning starts on offense.

contrary to popular belief sometimes one player doesn't make a team. Johnny football could have a better year but aTm have a worse record.

there D coudl take a step back, o-line take a step back and that would have a big impact on their success.

I agree they could definitely be reloading next year just like we are. But the question was how long until they move ahead of us in the West. In 2-3 years, they'll be no worse than our equal, assuming Sumlin doesn't leave and they don't land on probation or something. There's just no way it doesn't turn out that way with they recruiting classes they're likely to start producing.

But now that they're about to own Texas recruiting

and we still have a better class.

They've been as dysfunctional a program as any for the last 10-12 years.

it's hard to pinpoint a specific reason why they won't at least be on LSU's level.

these two states don't really agree with eacother.

Let's hope that their OLs declare early

at-least one goes I think.

they also have a defense to replace, which wasn't stellar

I'll believe you when Johnny football leaves and they still are in contention to win the west but its to early to believe that. Veteren Defense and o-linewhen those players leave can they have the same success.

I would say 3 out of every 4 years we finish ahead of aTm. LSU will continue to have one of the best D's in the country the question is will we have an offense.

Sure they do. You cite recent history as an indicator that A&M will not turn the corner. I am pointing out that their recent dysfunction occurred, largely because they were in the Big 12 conference with no inherent recruiting advantages, coached by the likes of Dennis Franchione. Their prime recruiting territory was dominated by Texas, OU and LSU, and they got leftovers.

Now they have a new coach, have the SEC as a recruiting tool, a re-energized Kyle Field (which is about to undergo major renovations). Their recruiting classes are going to be on par with ours, because they are about to start getting recruits, like RSJ, who would not have given them the time of day 3-4 years ago.

It's just realistic to say that their talent level is going to be on par with ours in the next few years, and their recent history will not be a disadvantage for them going forward.

Been hearing about this bullshite the past 3 or 4 years.

Get over your fricking self.

Miss st still can't even pass LSU when LSU is down and MSU is up.. So get fricking real with this.

LSU>>>> any Mississippi school..

oh and again a&m can't even beat LSU at home with a heisman trohpy winner.. when LSU sucks.

LOL!Are you watching this?

Did you happen to really pay attention to the game New Years DAY???? Our defense was on the field TWICE the amount of plays as our offense.

Before you LOL anyone else's offense you need to check LSUs first...our offense has sucked the last couple years...thank the D for winning the SEC games that we did

I say the next 2 seasons are going to tell the story.

I think you're going to be surprised next season. We had TERRIBLE o-line issues this year and we still won 10 games. Miss State isn't going anywhere close to the top and A&M's run will be over when Manziel heads off to the NFL in a couple years.

He will be eligible after next year. I don't think he goes. Best case scenario for LSU, he's there for 2013 and 2014 only.

one other thing assuming their two stud o-lineman declare early they will probably have 3 top 10 picks. two o-lineman and a defensive end gone all juniors. So if all these guys declare one did already. They will have 2 retuning starters ont he line next year and we all see how well that faired for LSU, Johnny football may struggle if his line doesn't protect him. aTm o-line may have been the best in the country this year, they are really good.
