Sorry, CP. Just so many better options in Lafayette.

Phares is really average to me. I always get the feeling that they're doing just enough to get by.

Judice Inn - classic Lafayette Hamburger, Johnston Street
Pete's - sport's bar
Pizza Village/Deano's - pizza (I HATE Deano's, but everyone else seems to love it)
La Fonda - Meh Mexican food, but the margaritas are to die for
Hub City Diner - 50s theme, good specials, near Laf General
Zeus - Greek/Lebanese food
Don's/Don's Seafood Hut - I prefer the sitting in the bar at the hut
The Filling Station - downtown for a nice day
Blue Dog Cafe - Causal Dining
French Press - pricey but wow it was great.
Charlie G's - Fine Dining

...and now I'm homesick.

I was trying to think of things unique to Lafayette. I find the Walk On's in NOLA and BR to be superior to the one in Lafayette. But that's just my opinion. I'm not even crazy about Walk On's here in BR. It just has a great atmosphere particularly for baseball

I'm not sure if I would consider this to be casual. We do all special celebrations here with my family: graduation, anniversaries, and my rehearsal dinner will probably be here. But the food is definitely amazing, and the atmosphere is so Lafayette.

I never really liked Mazen's, gave it tons of chances cause a friend of mine loves it and always drags me there. It's decent but I wouldn't recommend it

So Pizza Village isn't a chain? Never been to it because I figured it was some crappy cc's type place

and agreed with the guy about DeanO's, never been a fan. We always go to Alesi's for pizza

Nah, it's been on the northside forever and they just build that new location on our end

Bad choice of name then, Pizza Village just sounds like it has buffets and people in scooters coughing then serving themselves

PoBoys Riverside Inn is great for seafood, gumbos and bisques.
My fav is the whole broiled/grilled flounder and the crabmeat any way they do it.

I don't know if I would go that far, but they do have the worst bathroom for an "upscale" restaurant in the city. However, they also have the best cheesecake I have ever eaten.

I never knew there was such a meh attitude about Judice Inn before reading threads about it on here. I still love the place, it's not the.best.burger.ever.ever. but it's still pretty delicious. Plus, I like going there and eating a cheeseburger and not feeling like I'm going to explode

Just saved me quite a bit of time

Pamplona is probably my current favorite restaurant in Lafayette.
