When do the NCAA Playoffs Begin

Friend and I can't exactly figure out if the upcoming football season will have the playoffs, or the season after that.
Do we get one more season with BCS bowls, and then the playoffs the following season?

See, I have found they start for the 2014 season.
Are we currently in the 2012 season or the 2013 season since the BCSNC is in 2013?

It starts for the the football season that begins in September, 2014. Hope this helps.

won't really be a "playoff" though. i mean, it won't solve shite.
for example, if it were in place this year, it would look like this:
notre dame vs oregon
alabama vs florida
winner 1 vs winner 2
this leaves out kansas st. and stanford who both have one loss as well.
same bitching will occur

Yep, people will complain about 5-8 that didn't get in, just like they do with 3-6 not getting in now...
And, you'll have some teams that are a total reach...but, you get what you pay for.

Not necessarily. You are going by BCS 1-4. A committee will determine who plays in the playoff.

No way to get rid of all the bitching unless all conference champs get into the playoffs. I mean the basketball tournament has 65 teams and the 66th team still gripes that they deserved to get in.
