The problem with the SEC in bowl games
Posted by redneck on 1/3/13 at 12:41 am00
Is that the standards are set so high that it's national championship or bust. It's obvious that even UF didn't give a shite about the sugar bowl tonight

UF played disinterested, very similar to Bama Utah a few years ago.

Maybe Louisville isn't as bad as everyone thought

This "they didn't want to be there" crap has got to stop. Grab a W against the big guys and grind the little guys to dust. Otherwise, pull a LaTech, decline the bowl bid, stay home.

Florida has been horribly inconsistent and prone to long stretches of misfiring on offense. Their defense got torched by the sort of QB they haven't really had to play against all year.
Florida has a lot of problems but "not wanting to win" isn't one of them, and these bullshite excuses make the fanbase look utterly ridiculous. It's like a real SEC team can't possibly lose, they either win or they weren't really trying in the first place. It's the mentality of a 4 year old.

I think it also has to do with the fact that all people here about is how goo the SEC is and when teams get to play an SEC team they get jacked. All you hear is how good they are

Every sec team that isn't in the bcsng didn't care and was just practicing, and every team that plays an sec team makes it "their superbowl"
I learned that from this forum.

Lol. Louisville beat Florida's dick in, and it shouldn't have even been that close. They'd do that every single week they played as Florida has no DBs who can cover Louisville's WRs.
The problem with the SEC in bowl games is they finally play QBs like Tajh Boyd and Teddy Bridgewater who can make all the throws and it exposes their overrated defenses.

Florida's defense is legit.. they just didn't give one single frick about this game.
Florida should have lost to ULaLa, that tells you they aren't the power they once were. Alot of the guys on the SEC teams that are juniors and thinking of coming out should realize that NFL scouts will see those bowl games and should play their asses off, it's basically an audition.

This was done by LSU back in the day before the almighty $$$$.
What's the background on T Bridgewater's recruitment here as per discussion by Sugar Bowl broadcasters??

LSU recruited Mett as their main QB that year and was pursuing Bridgewater as a WR/TE/Athlete recruit.
Crowton's ability to scout QBs.
