Neither UF nor UL gave up 450 yards tonight. What have you been watching?

They also weren't on the field for 101 plays...

And didn't give up 32 first downs. Our defense didn't play that good down the stretch. We struggled defensively against Clemson. I do give the defense somewhat of a pass because of the continual 3 and outs by the offense. Hopkins tore us up all night.

Don't remember exactly but Clemson had over 200 yards in the first half. So that doesn't hold water... the defense wasn't gassed.

Doesn't say much for the state of defenses this bowl season then.

Let me clarify defineltely my bad Wrong title. My apologies.
I havent seen a Defense with the speed and size of ours. Even against Clemson, there were 15 -20 plays that were amazing. I think several of these guys are going to have stellar NFL careers.

I agree with that. Even though they got burned for 450, there were several plays that were oh so fast. I had to agree w/ the announcers that team must have picked up something on the count or a move by the center. Too quick off the ball to believe. I think Clemson made an adjustment for this at the half though. Those plays seemed mostly in the first half.

It's not the defense's fault. Whenever you're always bailing your offense out, you get gassed. Clemson's high speed offense was hard to deal with. They'll have their moments. But are they really that much different then Oregon? Fast paced offense with a scrambling qb. The defense did great, held them to 13 points all the way to the 4th quarter. If we had any kind of offense, we should have been up big in that game. When your defense gives you as many stops as they did. You've got to capitalize. Jesus. The score should have been 28-13 in the 4th but we couldn't produce nothing but a field goal off their fumble. The defense is what got us this far. Without a good defense we woulda been just like USC 7-6 or 8-5

Did you watch the LSU Clemson game OP? The Clemson D was better than ours. It shouldn't matter that our O is terrible and is easy to stop bc Clemson D dominated our O.

I've watched almost every game this bowl season, and LSU's effort is absolutely at the top of any I've seen. Without that effort Clemson wins by double digits. You also have to add in the fact that LSU was probably 5-6 Johnny Manziel-esque escapes by Boyd from having bigtime sacks that could have changed the game. Anyone faulting LSU's defense for that loss is crazy. No one in college can cover Nuk, and that includes everyone from LSU.

Lol. Clemson's D can't touch LSU's. Yal ran probably 6-7 different plays, we ran 40. The variety and creativity Clemson threw at LSU compared to what yal showed us is night and day. And that's before you even get into QB play and overall execution.

Clemson straight up came to play, and we didn't. Offense was once again totally predictable.

Yes, we didn't, however, LSU was 1 first down from winning it. The only time Clemson led in the game was when the clock read: 00:00. They played the game of their season. We played one of our worse and still almost pulled it out.

It was Clemson's offense that won the game with a little over a minute left.

Or, LSU's offense loss the game by not converting a 1st down with 2 tries at picking up 2 yards. Mett makes the connection on the 2nd and 2 to a wide open Landry, it's over.

Clemson ran almost 50 more plays than we did and we still only lost by one point against one of the top offenses in the entire nation. They fought their asses off and deserve a TON of credit. I completely agree wih the OP. we have the best D in nation.
