Nailed that one !

I'm still waiting to hear the official
explaination for that call. They keep telling
SC that one is coming. My guess is they are
trying to come up with a temporary insanity
defense. Unbelievable call on that one ?!?!?

Wow! Not even sure why that is so funny - that is almost worse than that Bama call where the ref literally shifted the ball in plain view. Yikes!

Maybe someone who is good with gifs can change the color of the refs shirts to maize and blue.

They asked Spurrier in the post game report what
was going on there. Paraphrasing here:

Said chains went down and I saw it was short so
I called the offense to get out on the field.
Saw the ref signal First down, so I ran over and
asked him to spot it again. They did and I pointed
to it and said "Hell, It's two links short"..The
ref got down to eye level, stood up and said "1st
Down" ?!?!
He said he asked for a review of the play, and
the ref reviewed it, but I knew they wouldn't
overturn it, so while they looked at it, I walked
over to the official who was holding the ball
and asked him "Did you see that the ball was
short of the sticks" ? ...He told me "Yes"...I
asked him why he didn't say something to the
other officials there, the ref said "I don't know"

Un-Feeking-believable !

Forget Clowney. Don't piss off Williams! Look what he did to Anderson with one arm.

Finebaum interviewed the former head of officiating for the SEC - Dick Burleson. He's not popular at all with LSU fans, but, nevertheless, he had a good point about how intimidating officiating can be, especially when you have someone like Steve Spurrier to contend with. Some folks get so nervous around someone like that that they simply quit functioning.
