could it be the slow year movie wise, there are no clear amazing movies that came out this year I don't think anyway.

but really has this year been slow I didn't watch many movies this year so I wouldn't know.

There have been a lot of big popcorn flicks this year, but few "Oscar-worthy" major motion pictures.

15 is more than me for sure. Give me a year or two and I will have seen pretty much every one worth seeing, but I just don't go to theatres or buy new movies much.
