While there is a story that combines them, it isn't essential. Just read the story on Wiki if you are really interested.

I'm not sure how I feel about this game. I love that it has a cool story line, but I hate how they've limited how I can play it.
Not going to lie, my favorite thing to do in all the other Hitmans was to kill everyone in the level without getting seen doing it.

I think they were going for graphic reboot. Most of the other Hitmans' stories were kind of childish, but I think I miss that.
Nothing like going ham on rednecks and feeding them to the gators  .

I think I've seen more "should I play X before Y" threads in the past month than I in the previous 11. It's not like trying to read the second book in a series or watching the last movie in a trilogy, there is usually some sort of introduction with video games.
