went to a friends house and she prepared fried eggrolls. Lots of cabbage, ground meat, spices. The kids ate them up. kind of like a Natchitoches meat pie with 70% cabbage

eating the Black Eyed Peas has never been a problem.

That sounds good.

We did braised cabbage in beer, apple cider vinegar, red pepper flakes and bacon and it was delish

doesn't frying veggies to get kids to eat them sort of defeat the purpose of getting them to eat veggies ?

That looks like an egg roll, which in any Chinese joint is rife with cabbage as an ingredient.

Have you really never heard of eggrolls or had any idea what was in them? Oh and of course everything is better when fried.

I guess the bigger story was they were homemade and did not taste like the Chinese egg rolls that are rifled with other things too. Plus it was a 1st for eggrolls and blackeyed peas for New years.

There is a simpler way to get children to eat what is on the plate. Kid pitches a fit, tell him/her to get two slices of bread, and then go to bed when finished.

I'll pass, eating or not eating a particular food on a particular day does not need to be a battle of wills.

It was a good day, thats all, sorry you missed it.

Looks delicious! I never liked the battle of wills over food, either.

American kid doesn't want to eat his vegetables.
Dad drives him to McDonald's.

Fortunately We don't have any Will's in our family.
Only Larry, Darryl & Darryl.

But Cole slaw always worked well at New Years for the cabbage challenged kids.

The Egg rolls look slamming however.

I guess I do a egg roll without the wrap

chopped up cabbage with a dash of olive oil and seasonings, garlic etc and boom I scarf it up

I do cook it till it's almost burnt though, I like it that way
