JA needs to have a sit down with Miles in the next two days and demand the termination of Stud and also give Miles an ultimatum that he get his arse in gear or he will face certain termination.

JA also needs to realize that his future is in Miles' hands. If Miles fails Alleva may be gone as well.

IMO Miles has gotten complacent. There is no sense of urgency, there is no fire and there is no accountability. He needs to be shaken. If this loss and January 9th didn't do it...two bowl losses in a calendar year...Alleva needs to make sure that something does in very clear fashion.

He just signed an extension. He can't turn around now and threaten to fire him. It doesn't work like that

If nothing happens get ready for the 1990s to repeat themselves.

This

And stud will probably get a raise, allowing him to enjoy more BBQ in the press box while running stupid plays drive after drive with Miles

I started a thread about Alleva earlier. That's really the dude I want to hear from, though I know ADs don't speak after losses. And Stud is not the problem. We ran the option under Crowton, and we ran it this year under Stud with Mett at qb. What do those 2 OCs have in common?

Alleva is a fricking joke. He got the Duke AD job because he was racquetball partners with Coach K.

The only time he ever took a stand in his career was to shut down the Duke Lacrosse program over some false rape accusations.

He landed this job because he impressed our lazy BOS with his plans to fix broken windows at tiger stadium.

You actually think that ball-less wonder will say anything to Miles? Hell remember he is happy just to be in the national championship talks during the season.

Don't be stupid. He's been here 8 years and we haven't come close to the 90s.

If you want to make a comparison, try the Charlie Mac era where we played second fiddle to Bama. We had good years but couldn't get over the hump. That is a more likely scenario going forward.

The only thing Alleva is working on is the annual Les defense letter to the fans. Oh, and tailgate/parking changes for next year. And Bayou fest.

You are right Justsmokin. However, it will suck.

I suppose it was fun while it lasted.

Doc:

This is not the NFL. Coach Miles answers to nobody when it comes to LSU football. His authority is absolute, and his judgment is infallible.

The employee at LSU who knows the most about football is Coach Les Miles. Joe Alleva is NOT going to instruct Coach on coaching football.

That will not happen.

Coach Miles has just earned a pay raise and a contract extension of seven years -- which is well above the average contract extension. The University has demonstrated its trust and confidence in the best football coach has ever had. Nobody is going to question Coach Miles's wisdom at this point, other than some pathetic NegaTiger fans.

Don't be like them. Have confidence in the University's confidence in Coach Miles.

Dad's been saying that for years. He calls Miles "Charlie Mac Pt II".

Nothing will happen, did you see how much LSU athletics gave the university this year? Miles could win 1 game a year and they would keep him as long as the money keeps rolling in.

Impossible after recent contract extension. Yes he should - but it's wishful thinking.
