2009 - L - To an inferior Big 10 program
2010 - W - Impressive win over A&M
2011 - L - Skullfricked in perhaps the program's biggest game
2012 - L - To an inferior ACC team

1-3 in four years with the staff looking completely baffled in the last two.

What has changed with Miles? We went from dominating four straight bowls (05-08) to looking clueless. Any ideas?

Les needs to learn tho play the players that really perform (like Jeremy Hill) instead of playing everyone even if they don't deserve it. Just the truth IMO...

If the NC game didn't make people dislike Les, I hope last night's game helped sway those left on the fence.

Last night was close to being the first game without a delay of game or time out to prevent a delay of game penalty that I could remember. But was not to be.

So you'd chalk up the last two bowl games as "shite happens"?

Danny McCray's tip that Harvin took for a TD, Ford's fumble returned by Ark last year, etc. are "shite happens" examples, not complete futility in your gameplan

09 was played in a rain storm and a field that was just sodded the day before. This is not an excuse that was the worst playing surface for a bowl game in the last 25 yrs and we still almost beat a good NFL rich PSU. LSU is a speed team not a plodder in the mud well at least back then we were.

2011 wouldnt have mattered who the coach was, Alabama had one of the all time great NCAA teams.
This yr the play calling must be questioned, Clemson is not an inferior team btw.

Our offense not showing up the last two bowl games can be questioned, Im gonna give CLM one more yr to figure this one out before i say he isnt a great bowl coach his record is still better than almost everyone else's.

The way LSU looked against PSU was the exact same it looked all year long. Horrific offense. We were just accustomed to LSU looking good in bowls so we expected better.

That's almost laughable. It's either that or pull your hair out. At this point, I'm opting to laugh about it and hope that Miles gets hired by an NFL team. It's the only hope we have to win a national title and to have an offense that is on par with other great college programs.

Three yards and a cloud of dust is fine if you are superior in talent on the O line and you have great RB's. Is it too much to ask for to have an offensive game plan that is capable of beating teams with a great scheme? I'm GD tired of seeing teams put every one in the box and still running between the tackles. It's maddening.

Pretty much.

The real answer simply comes down to QB play. We've had 2 QBs who we either simply didn't develop or just weren't very good.

There's your most likely answer. D is still good. Run game still good. QB play from Flynn/Russell to JJ/Mett is the difference.

failure to develop a QB with LSU's resources and reputation (as well as les miles' recruiting ability) over 6 years is telling

*ETA: if we're bringing u sample size, then he should have never gotten a reputation as a good bowl coach in the first place, which is what this thread is discussing

I don't think Jefferson was ever going to be a serviceable QB, he just wasn't a QB IMO.

So, you really have 1 QB Mett. Was he not developed or was he just highly overrated and never was going to be a solid college QB? How do you actually know the answer to that?

That's kinda my point.
