Just like the coaches, just like the fans - these players didn't get fired up for this bullshite bowl. You can say all you want but I honestly think they could have beat a far more capable team in some other game. But just sticking them in Atlanta again proved to be too stagnant for them to overcome. Sure I'd have liked to see a different outcome but there was no good that could have really come out of it. Clemson in the Peach Bowl is probably the worst game they could have ended up in and it proved to be such: a trap.

Now everybody grow up and let's look forward to next year. It's basketball season.

Exactly. Like somebody else said --this was just an exhibition game.

Coach Miles was wise to treat it as such. He wanted the kids to have a good time, so, he sent them out to the Brazilian Steakhouse where we promptly went on to BEAT CLEMSON in the "All You Can Eat Steak Eating Contest."

This cheap bowl game meant as much to LSU football as did that Steak Eating Contest, WHICH WE WON, by the way. Nega Tigers forget this fact.

Dude. That sums it up perfectly. An exhibition game. That's really what it felt like and pretty much how it looked the coaches treated it like. Nobody wanted to be there so it was like "Meh, let's go have some fun". Clemson had all the sense of urgency. And LSU didn't give a shite. Some of you people are really treating it like it's the end of the world.

This is the stupidiest thing ever, you think those seniors didn't care or any of the players for that matter. If you play a competitive sport you NEVER want to lose. I blame the coaches for now putting more of an effort to get the guys ready and use the talent like it should be used.

So the team cared for 58 minutes and then decided the bowl was just an exhibition.

How do you explain the hard hits by the defense if it wasn't important. Even Mett tried to extend the play as he ran along the sideline and was knocked out of bounds, taking a hard blow.
The played hard just were not prepared.
Where was no 10?

Why is this the excuse for every bad game LSU has had this year?

This is some real truth to this. I remember years ago when Lsu played Nebraska in e sugar bowl and my brother played on he team. He told me day before game that they were going to get their butt kicked because players were more concerned about party after the game than playing and had nothing to play for and didn't give a shite. But it is the coaches job to get hem motivated or the seniors on his team

WINNING is always something good - that could have happened.

Finishing in the top 10 would have been a good thing - that could have happened.

Moving the ball on offense consistently could have been a nice way to finish giving us confidence going into next year - that could have happened.

It's not a major loss, but it's a loss and another one with extremely questionable play calling.

It is the new year and I will look forward though - that I agree on.

Yea, that Arkansas game was an exhibition game this past year, so that's why we slugged it out with a team who just got beat 58-10 two weeks before.

You guys with your excuses.

So basically what were saying if we don't beat bama, just call it a season?

Yeah, the team looked pretty pumped out there. This excuse is stupid.

Your opinion. I think its the goofiest thing I have ever read involving competitive sports. To suggest that LSU coaches/players didnt care if they won or lost on natioal tv, well... do I need to say more?
If anything the opposite should be the case:
"lets go out there and destroy Clemson and show the country how much better we are than Clemson."
All they did was prove that they belonged exactly where they were. And if CLM couldnt get the team up for this game, thats a coaching problem. Next season will not be pretty.

I'm not saying they didnt play. They wanted to win but they didnt want to win that much. It was a joke of a game going into it.

That's absurd. And if there's one whit of truth to that, it's time for Miles to retire. If you don't take any game on a national stage seriously, when you're a national power, then you've lost your edge.

Personally, I think we are an offensive coordinator away from having an unstoppable team. Stud may be a good offensive line coach, but cutting your teeth as an OC in the SEC is being thrown into the fire a little too quickly. Our offense is boring and predictable, and when we step out of character, like we did in our last series, it backfires. We need a top-notch OC.

Our defense played 100 snaps yesterday. Our offense could probably line up and play another game today. They didn't even get their jerseys dirty. And I don't fault the players at all.

We need an OC, and some fire in the offense. If Miles moves off center and gets a good OC, even a a barely-above-average OC, we are gonna win it all next year. Period. End of story. /thread.

Hey look. you guys can spend the whole off season with the raging butthurt. But it is what it is. A 10 win season and being "rewarded" with yet another trip to Atlanta against the tradition void that is Clemson. I found myself not looking forward to this game in the slightest and the more I thought about it, this team and it's coaches probably had the exact same feeling.

The coaches are paid a ton. If they had that feeling and let it affect them, then they are complete failures with what they are getting paid. If we were that great and deserving, we would have still won with the poor performance. That's what great teams do.

We were dangerously close to losing to a mediocre Ole Miss team and a terrible Arkansas team leading up to this game. And we were also close to losing to a terrible Auburn team early in the season. We also should have beat Bama and beat a couple of really good SEC teams. We were a mixed bag - not the dominant juggernaut that many fans claimed for some reason.

The problem with our team is that they only "come to play" for certain games which is not ok. This is a reflection of our undeciplined coaching.

why does our team care so much about washington but not about ole miss, arkansas, towson, auburn, idaho and clemson?

that's half our schedule, and i'm not even including the UNT game
