This is the problem. Deangelo Williams finished the season with 152 attempts, ranking 26th in the league among RB's. Jonathan Stewart finished with 93 attempts (both finished about 3.5/3.6 yards per rush). Carolina just didn't have a legitimate running threat outside of Cam. That makes a huge difference.

well they are both making bank for their efforts

RG3 is the better passer situationally. You can count on a pass play from him while Cam is less reliable when a play is needed.

This is also reflected in the results.

That's not hate, but I do think saying "RGIII has the intangibles" is a serious cop-out. Saying this just means you like RGIII over Cam for some reason other than on-field performance.

Because he acts like a leader, Cam does not. Hence, the intangibles, things you can't measure by a stat.

Not really. His football IQ and leadership skills appear to be superior.

People bring up team accomplishments as the end all be all in every single QB debate that has ever existed and it is always a horrible way to analyze performance.

The quarterback is one player on an offense that has eleven people on the field at any point in time. The defense that a team has also fields eleven different people at any given time, as does the special teams units.

Judging a QB on how the team performs is only useful when taken in proper context, and the general "oh well this team is better so that QB must be better than this other QB whose team didn't fare so well" argument is usually beyond retarded.

They are, by the largest margin imaginable, the most overpaid RB unit in the NFL when you look at the results.

RGIII is just a beast.

258/393 (66%) 3280 yards passing, 20 TDs and 5 Interceptions. Passer rating of 103.22

120 rushes for 812 yards and 7 TDs.

4092 Total yards as a Rookie and 27 total TDs with only 5 INTs.

Williams and Stewart are 2 very good RBs. It just so happens their OL is dogshit and the team that paid them a lot of money aren't committed to giving them the ball. Which is stupid considering they could work well with Cam if CAR implanted a similar offense to WAS where Cam isn't throwing it 500 times a season

Hard to compare when you look at one single year. There are 45 other guys responsible for a team's success. Get back to me in 15 years and we'll see how they compare. If the two teams switch divisions, they also likely switch results.

I was more impressed with Cam's play against the Falcons than I was with RG the Third's.

Plus Cam has played tougher schedules while having a terrible defense.

That said, if I were starting a team today and had to pick between Cam and RG3 as my QB, I'd probably flip a coin.

I think they're about equal. RGIII has a much better running game and coaching staff to work with while Cam has a better receiving corps and defense to support him. Shanahan is the difference though. Coaching means everything in the NFL and Shanahan's a far better coach than Rivera right now. Brian Griese, Jake Plummer and Jay Cutler all went to the Pro Bowl with Shanahan as their coach and none of those QBs have been anywhere near as good without him. The man's a brilliant offensive mind.

RG3 is better, can't stand either one honestly. I liked RG3 in college but now they hype and dick sucking has made me sick.

Never liked Cam.
