not really it's supposed to beat that type of movie.

I saw one movie on the OP's list. Looks like a bunch of movies pretentious people like that I have no interest in. The one movie I saw was Argo, and it was great. I can't remember all of the movies I saw in 2012, especially from earlier in the year. But here is my list.

1. The Hobbit

2. The Avengers
3. Wreck-It Ralph
4. Argo
5. Skyfall
6. DKR
7. Legend of the Guardians

I do not recall seeing any good comedies in 2012 (Ted was decent at best) and I am generally not a fan of dramas without some historical impact (Argo was based on a true story, so I liked it more). I also don't go for obscure, hispterish type movies. And I will never watch another Tarantino movie because they are too gross to watch, so that leaves off Django Unchained.

The hobbit was way too long and suprispingly enogh I didn't even feel like I watched a full movie. This trilogy idea is just a huge cash grab.

the hobbit and the Avengers are really close IMO. I need to watch the Avengers again because it blew me away how good it was when I wasn't expecting to much. TDKR seems good at number 6.

bullshite. After watching it this statement is full of shite. That's like saying all 3 LOTR were way to long.

no

I've seen sky fall though. Just pointing out that TDKR wasn't a top 5 movie IMO. Argo I have downloaded and the silver linings movie.

The hobbit is way too long because it didn't have to be. LOTR trilogy needed that runtime.

Why not? Everyone who loved the books and appendices and understand he had more story to tell LOVED IT. Complaining about the first 40 minutes is really pathetic after watching it.

I cannot comprehend why anyone would say this. Not enough explosions and action for you? Every bit of that movie was great.

i do not agree with him that is was too long but this is a stupid connection to make. i found the last transformers to be about 40 minutes too long specifically because of excess explosions and action

I felt the same way. I also had no idea that it was supposed to be a trilogy (I know I'm a n00b), so the ending kind of threw me for a loop.

1) Argo
2) Django Unchained
3) Moonrise Kingdom
4) The Dark Knight Rises
5) The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
6) Wreck It Ralph
7) The Life of Pi
8) Looper
9) The Avengers
10) Skyfall

Pretty good year all in all, and I haven't seen half of the OP's choices, which I'll try to see as soon as possible.

In hindsight, it may go up, but really we've only seen the first third of the film. The Lord of the Rings as a whole got even better once you see it as a completed piece; I think the Hobbit will as well.

i don't hate nickelback or hoobastank like the "cool kids" do. i dont see what that has to do with me thinking transformers was too long though.
