I am a TCU fan, and while I don't think we will beat LSU next year, I also don't think we will get blown out.

I know its a broken record but TCU has had to play more true freshman than anyone else in the country this year. Even more than LSU. They return 20 of 22 starters next year and everyone in the game tonight except one of the outside linebackers and an offensive linemen will be back next year, only stronger bigger and faster. The defense should be enough to keep them in any game. Offense could be far better if Pachall comes back.

I think tcu's 1s are as good as most teams. The diff is once you start having to rotate in. I believe they'll get there though. I really respect their head coach.

Little?
Yeah, 235. Admit that you were wrong. LSU usually destroys OOC teams.

Agree, will be a hard fought game and close.

TCU is a bad matchup for LSU, good defenses keep any team in the game with LSU, and TCU returns everyone from the Big 12's top defense.

TCU is one of the youngest teams in college football this season, and taking that young roster into a new AQ conference, and might win 8 games.

GPatt coaching.

I'm not wrong tough guy. You didn't say usually when you first started acting like LSU always wrecks OOC teams. You are only adding that in now b/c you forgot that LSU had some trouble just two years ago putting away a pair of OOC teams.

Like I said, its past your bedtime.

Not really, if you don't know TCU is a good defense on a yearly basis, then I don't know what to tell you. Follow football closer I guess.

Yes, I realize they're good but this 2012 version isn't near as good as some of their previous defenses.

The type of team that gives the TCU defense trouble are teams with a pocket passing QB who can pick apart the defense if TCU can not generate a pass rush. TCU's defense focuses on stopping the run and short pass, and forces you to beat them with the long ball and big play.

Not sure if Mettenberger or the LSU offense fits that mold. Pro style pound the ball between the tackles offenses have never had much success against the TCU defense. Whether it be Oklahoma and Adrian Peterson or DeMarco Murray, Clemson and CJ Spiller, Wisconsin and Montee Ball, or Texas this year, they fail to have good games.

If you look at the teams that have had success against the TCU defense, its always a team with a pocket passer, stong receivers and a solid offensive line. Sam Bradford/Oklahoma in 2008 was able to do it. Ryan Lindley and San Diego State in 2010 had some success. RGIII and Baylor last year had success.

Already been mentioned in this thread, they are one of the youngest teams in all of college football.

They have 1 senior on defense.

Will be loaded next year.

you dont think that has anything to do with the fact that they only have one senior on their entire defensive two deep this year?

The fact that the big 12 has already had teams play in 4 bowl games tells you all you need to know. The SEC hasn't played in a bowl game yet because the real bowl games haven't started.

Astute observation!

That's a high bar to set losing to a Big Ten and Big East team in the same day.

"Upgrades" are now 0-2 in bowl games.
