WORD find and replace help

I am trying to delete some numbering in about 60 Word documents. for the most part I can figure it out, but one instance is killing me.

The documents are mostly multilevel lists, that appear like this:

1.2(the actual list numbering) followed by a tab and then the number is repeated as plain text, this is followed by a text paragraph.

e.g., 1.2tab1.2This document is for.....

I want to find and replace to delete the second iteration of the numbering. Any thoughts??

idk bro, that sounds pretty hard; you're prolly going to end up going through all 60 documents deleting manually.

I can get it to work when there is a space after the second set of numbers by using this

[0-9].[0-9]followed by a space

I can't figure out how to make it work when a word immediately follows the number.

I know exactly what you're talking about now. But I'm not sure if there's a way to force word to take a concomitant numerical and alphabetical scheme. Sorry, bud.

I'm sure you're feeling:

Get an intern to delete it for you manually. :p
