Yea made another loop through where he ran off too. No blood, no deer. I'm pretty sure he was just grazed.

The Cow Horn spike is one of the hardest bucks to kill. Extremely wary and badass. No other buck will frick with em because the cow horn goes directly for the eyes and throat of even the biggest bucks. We hunted one on Davis Island for three years. He was like a legend, showing up at inopportune times...taking veteran hunters by complete suprise with his stealthy ways, impregnating the finest does on the Island. Good luck hunting the devil deer...you will need it.

I doubt he shows up again this year

I've seen him a handful of times and that was the first shot I've ever had on him. And I blew it. I looked at that opening I shot through this morning, I couldn't see if my bullet nicked a branch, but there was definitly a lot of obstructions. Could a pinkie sized branch frick my trajectory up that much at 60-70 yards? Obstructions were at about the midway point of the shot.

The way you described the shot, the bullet only had to be altered by 4-5 inches to miss low. i would think this is very plausible.

DN,

Where do you hunt? I know from previous post you are from Livonia so I was curious where this creature may be and if I need to be on the lookout for him
