I'm a huge Strief critic, and want him replaced, but it would make no sense to cut him. I can't access Rotoworld at work, but I can't imagine his contract being too expensive, and he would make for nice depth/blocking TE.

Personnaly, I don't see CSP giving up control of the decision-making process for his football team. Jerry controls all personnel dicisions, it's why The Big Fat Tuna only lasted two years with the girls. I think he and CSP are cut from the same cloth.

The club is currently around $16 million over a 2013 league-wide cap figure that has long been projected to increase only slightly over the 2012 figure of $120.6 million, and the team will need to re-sign left tackle Jermon Bushrod and defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis, as well as clear a few million dollars for a restricted free agent tender on center Brian De La Puente. (A "First Round" tender would be worth $2.879 million in 2013, a mandatory five percent increase over the 2012 restricted free agent tender amounts)

Will Smith- He's gonna cost $5.5mil of cap even if let go. Add his $9mil salary and it's a $14mil cap hit- absolutely unworkable. He might could be back if he took the vet minimum but even then I dunno. He has been ranked by Pro Football Focus all season at the bottom of 64 NFL DEs.

After being drafted #18 overall in 2004 he has had a very solid but not spectacular career. As stands now (67.5 sacks) he would end up #4 in alltime Saints sacks after Jackson, Wayne Martin, & Swilling. He has his share of injuries through the years but is quite a gamer playing through them. He's only been completely out of 5 games his whole career. Thanks Fresh Prince.

these three guys prolly gone in 2013...

I felt like Will Smith was a LDE trying to play RDE his entire career

Who knows. Move him to a LB/SS hybrid role and Jenkins to a SS/CB hybrid. W/e trust spags on this one.

Will Smith

What can i say about Will Smith? He's spent his whole career here. He's had some great seasons. He's been here since Haslett. He's a leader in the lockerroom. He keeps his mouth shut for the most part on and off the field. I once saw him in a fishing hat light blue with yellow ducks on it.

He played on the line with Darren Howard, Howard Green, Charles Grant, Brian Young, Willy Whitehead, Hollis Thomas, Antwan Lake, Remi Ayodele, Kendrick Clancy, Sedrick Ellis, Bobby McCray, Jeff Charleston, Anthony Hargrove, Junior Galette, Cam Jordan, Bunkly, Martez Wilson, and Akiem Hicks.

He just might be the best on that list and our best lineman since 2004. If he goes, lets remember him for the good years.

for the love of God, and he's a great guy, good tackler, but horrendous coverage guy -- Roman Harper.

Blues, your sig makes me yearn for a Sean Payton motivational video for "the return". Someone get on that.

I'll be sad to see Devery go. Dude's been nothing but a pro. He goes about his business, doesn't run his mouth and hasn't complained even with his role diminishing.

Nicely written Blu.
Roby

In trying to squeeze every dollar next year.

Also Ivory is a player I can see as a surprise goner only because the Saints are a great org. and may give him HIS shot at being a starter somewhere.

He's a lot of fans' favorite whipping boy.

Still, I may have to buy my Shanle jersey before the end of the league year...
