Several players that have been a part of the success of this golden age will likely be playing their last game for the Saints. I'm telling them bye here to appreciate those last reps. Do the same if ya want...

Scott Shanle- first, he is facing it quite honestly. "I'm ready to move forward whatever comes my way," Shanle said. "If it's going somewhere else, if it's coming back, if its doing something entirely different in my life, I'll be ready for it. And I'm just thankful that I've been able to do it for 10 years."

For a 7th Rd draft pick he has had a decent career. He was one of the first players Payton wanted in '06. Loomis nabbed him for a 7th Rd pick. He might be the player with the most starts in team history (94 ) that fans wanted to see gone the most (Fred Thomas 75 starts?).

He'll likely be inactive as he has been 8 of the past 9 games. I won't be remembering the poor plays anymore but that he was a component of the best years in franchise history (so far).

Devery- His catches have gone down for 4 straight years. His YPC this year is near a career low. Since Week 7 he has 4 catches for 28yds. Morgan has replaced him as the go-to deep threat. His $3.6mil cap hit this year will no longer be sustainable with the Saints cap sitaution. Always nice to see a small town La. boy do well both for the Tigers and Saints. He'll go down as one of the best in that after Hilliard and Martin. He progressed a lot at the NFL level after starting his career with a lot of drops. He led the NFL twice in yards per catch avg. Thanks for the memories.
"You put thought into it, but it's pretty much out of your hands," said Henderson, who has 21 catches for 300 yards and one touchdown this season. "For the main part, I just try to go out there everyday and better myself and do what I can do for the team. Hopefully at the end of the season, things will work out."

add yours, I have more too

devery was largely overshadowed by Michael Clayton throughout most of his career at LSU but ended up having the longer and more successful career.

shanle, always gave him a lot of shite but the guy loved being a saint and you could never accuse him of not playing hard

sed ellis? peace out

Smith could be gone.

I think Vilma comes back on a restructured contract. I don't see much of a market for his knees after this year. Plus, other teams will have to deal with the bounty questions if he goes somewhere else. We have already done that and have supported him through it.

I think the whole fred thomas hate thing is a little overblown. The guy wasn't bad in his prime but those last two years were well into the twilight of his career and he probably did about as well as you could hope for all things considered.

The dude started playing in 1996, so he was on his tenth and eleventh season when he became the fodder of everyone.

ETA: and thats a cornerback we are talking about. He had to be doing something right to play 11 seasons

ETA2: I guess I'm confused bc espn says 12 yrs experience.

ETA3: Holy shite, I didnt even realize he had 5 ints, 2FF, 1 sack in 2002 and then 4 ints, 1 FF, 1 sack in 2003.

Thats a pretty impressive two year stretch

Strief? He's pretty cheap for a starter and under contract for another year. Certainly not all-world but you could do a lot worse. Who to replace him? Robinson the bouncer we signed? We may never know if Brown is starter capable cuz he can't stay on the field. I count Zach as a 99% sure returner.

While I chuckled, I was pissed at the same time. Don't ever do that again.

Your kids are cute.

Sorry, Grandkids.

Just trying to keep the karma favoring the saints. I live in Dallas and the girls fans swear there will be a big announcement at the end of the season.

I like Old Sweaty Butt too, but since he took over for Stinchcomb, he seems almost as fragile as Chris Ivory.
