Had some Christmas eve for lunch.

Stopped by Montalbano's seafood around noon to pick up some oysters and they just were pouring a basketfull in the ice cheast.. nice and hot.

I could not resist.. 4 lbs @ $3.99 a lb

Then made the mistake of stopping to see Dad.

Ended up spliting them with him..One of lifes little treasures..

I picked up 5 lbs from Sammy's (Highland) last Thursday. It was about 8 pm, and they had just pulled a fresh batch.

They were hot, spicy, good size for December, and tasted awesome.

I'll wait another month before I grab more with them being 4.99/lb.

But they're like a little white powder I used to know, sometimes I just have to have them.

i miss the days of $1/lb crawfish.

Wholesale was down around $1.25 at one point last year but you'll never see that on the retail side. Ill be selling them live for $2.50 next week

I love early season crawfish. Yes they are small(er) but they are so tender and soak up the seasoning very well...

Best in Baton Rouge by a mile, IMO.
