Maybe it's about Monty wanting to start Eric Gordon off, if possible, in an known setting, rather than making decisions to manage fan reaction.

I have high hopes, but my gut feeling is that he'll play sparingly and have a set back (that'll be brought up RIGHT before we play the next game). Out for who the frick knows.

With it still being the holidays and so on, and a Friday night game, it sure would be cool to see him suit up at home against the Raptors (shittier name than Pelicans, btw)

BUT, I understand exactly why Monty is doing it this way. I also understand that this will not help EG shed his weak image with the fans.

THIS! The fans want to get behind him, but they can't until he actually plays. It's easy to forgive someone that plays well...and I'm pretty sure that EG is pretty good.

Honestly, I just want him to play 20 minutes and be fine. I'm starting with baby steps.
