Yesterday my grandfather came to my house and gave me his Remington Woodsmaster 742 30-06. It is still in great condition. I know it's not a very rare gun but it means a lot to me. I remember him telling me his deer hunting stories as a kid, I hope I can pass it down to my son one day. What a great gift.

I've got an old bolt action .410 that rusty and stiff, means more to me than any other gun. Ive spent hundreds of hours squirrel hunting with that as a kid at my grandpas house. When he passed away that's the one I picked to hang on to

That's an awesome weapon!

I had one that was also passed down from my grandfather. Unfortunately, it was stolen out of my Dad's truck years ago. I loved that gun. I've since purchased a newer alt 6 but will always cherish the one passed down from my grandfather.

nice.
dont know if you own other guns but make sure you dont keep it in a gun case.
And if you store in a closet standing up put a sock or something over the barrel to keep dust out.

had a few guns stand in the corner for a couple years and you couldnt see down the barrels they were clogged with dust. And it wasnt a very dusty area

I got a 48 gun Cannon safe on Black Friday. It will be tucked away in there until I can get it sighted in for next year. It has the dehumidifier in it. I still want to hunt with it, my granddad told me he didn't want it retired yet.

Gramps gave me a .25-20 from his dad who fought on the Indian wars. Still has blood on the stock from all the Indian baby skulls he bashed.

Agreed! I have a 38W Marlin from 1893 that my dad handed down to me and has been handed down through the family for generations, as well as my dad's first shotgun, a 20g Browning from Belgium, that mean more to me than any other guns I've purchased. To me, it's the time and the stories associated with each.

That's real niiice Clark.

Congrats on getting your Grandfathers gun. That is defiantly something special.

My Grandfathers guns got split between my two uncles, one of which does not hunt at all and neither do his two sons. They are both into this hipster shite. Gonna try to talk my uncle into giving me one.

I have my grandpas old sears and robuck bolt action 12 gauge. I wish he was still around to tell me some stories about that gun, my dad said it was his favorite.
