His antics with Ref Boger (who is terrible as saints fans know) will def warrant a substantial fine but I think there is also a chance he gets suspended for a game.
Thoughts?

From the bench Brees thread, is this what you're talking about?

Yes. The kick was bad but going after the ref is worse. At the least, he has a substantial fine coming his way. Really wouldn't be surprised if he is suspended. Pro Sports usually don't mess around when a player makes aggressive contact with an official.

fwiw the ref said he wasn't flagged for being aggressive, he was flagged for being disrespectful

You better hope so. The Panthers Pain Train will run right through that pathetic excuse of a defense.

He definitely made contact.

Worked great for the Bucs.

From that .gif it honestly looks like Cam gets up fast and ready to get the last shout at that defensive player and the ref just so happens to be in the middle. It looks way too fast to be intentional.

Have any QBs or players ever outright punched out a ref or purposely knocked them down in anger? I've never seen it, me, or really heard about anything like this.

The Panthers offense isn't on par with the Buccs. And Cam Newton hasn't been a turnover machine like Josh Freeman. Panthers are superior.

A little idiomatic lesson: when you say something [A] isn't on par with something else [B], it is implied that in addition to the two not being equal, the object of comparison (B, Buccaneers) is superior (not inferior). You are attempting to make the opposite point.

The saints can only hope he is suspended. They might drop 30+ again
