he's the best HS RB I've seen this year. He's better than 80% of the guys we have committed

Too bad he can't play OL, DL, DB, WR, TE, or QB because those are positions that are enormous needs right now. It's not like the staff is taking a questionable LA RB over him. The staff feels like they cannot afford to bring in a RB unless he is a rare talent that cannot be found within state next year. Supposedly there are at least 2 LA RB's better than him for the 2014 class.

Fournette, who may or may not be better, and who may not come here, and who else?

no such thing as offering to many big o-lineman. We seem to offer so many cookie cutter wr/dbs that are a dime a dozen in LA at the expense of the big horses.

Sione Pelelei is a RB projected to do big things next year. Devon Thomas of Broken Arrow, OK is already a 4-star and is currently an OSU commit but he is originally from LA and his parents have expressed interest in moving back to LA. He doesn't have an LSU offer but the staff is interested and may offer next year. Then there is Nick Brossette coming in for the 2015 class who supposed to be the next Fournette. There will not be a shortage of talented running backs for LSU anytime soon. Since you want to talk about what-if scenarios, what if the staff offers and brings in Taylor and he ends up getting pushed down the depth chart like Magee? Would it be better that he gets a better opportunity at Nebraska then to come to LSU and risk getting lost in the roster?

Are you sure about that? He committed to OU and after 2-3 weeks, he decommitted.

I think he recently made a commitment to OSU but there is no telling if that will stick. I read an interview a few weeks ago that had him saying that he wants an LSU offer and that he was originally from LA. He might just be securing a commitment right now because he has no LSU offer. I am curious to see what happens if he gets that LSU offer.

Another 2014 guy to look at is Darrell Williams who has the frame to put on a good bit of mass and will most likely be recruited as an athlete who may end up at RB or LB depending on how big he gets.

On the other hand, what if he comes in and pushes Fournette down the depth chart like unheralded Blue pushed greatly heralded Hillard. Gotta trust the coachs on this though, they recognized Blue when others didn't and made the offer.

Yes of course. The same coaches who are deciding to pass on Taylor.

I will say this again. Adam Taylor is a really good RB who is playing on a very very good team. He will be a good college back but dont get too overwhelmed watching him run behind a dominant offensive line who doesnt make any mistakes. You never see them have holding calls or proceedure calls. He is a good back but if LF was playing on Katy's team he would look like the second coming of Adrian Peterson. That being said I really wish they could find room for him because he really wants to be a tiger and to me that is more important than the reasons he doesnt have an offer.

Saw many of the Texas payoff games and Taylor was clearly the class of the backs. And yes he plays on a great team but he was still the stud. I thinks LSU should have tried to squeeze him in. Talent like that wanting to play for LSU never hurts

I going to trust the staff, many of us wanted Christine Michael-5* from Tx a couple years back. He ended up at a&m and has had a so so career(injuries).

Just watched the Texas HS 5A State Championship, and this guy Taylor is an animal. This guy consistently ran through 9 man fronts. He ran for a total of 245 yrds. and 5 touchdowns, and was the games MVP on Offense. Straight Animal! How LSU let this kid get away is a huge ball dropper! And from what I have read, this young man was an LSU Fanatic! He is definitely going to do huge things at and for the University of Nebraska. Congratulaton's Taylor!!

Lsu staff wanted elite speed (4.4, get to the outside) or they were willing to pass on a RB this. Which they will. Staff missed on the back out of Fl who was a take. Taylor didn't look good in drills, lateral movement, knee was an issue.

Cyrus Gray did well against us in the Cotton Bowl. Ben Malena did well against us this season. Christine Michael got a 2 yard goal line TD but did not do much else. I wouldn't take him over Hill, Ware, Ford, Blue, and possibly Hilliard if he returns to his 2011 form.
