I think it has to do with the fact that the ACC is obligated to send it's # 2-3 team and the SEC sends it's 6-7 team.

All bowl tie-in's have historically matched up lower seeded SEC teams against higher seeded OOC teams.
And, yet, the SEC still dominates bowl play.
However, this response was knee-jerk, because I'm now an anti-SEC fan, pulling against everyone but LSU, in protest of scheduling, officiating, and bowl invitation issues regarding the SEC offices.

Not all bowl payouts are the same, LSU's payout last year was around 11 million more than Bama's.

LSU is the 6th best team in the SEC?

That's the bowl slot they got.
One first down from playing ND in Miami, and we're now the equivalent of a 7-5 team that gave up 50+ points to 4 teams in '08.
That's the reality of the situation.
And, what really gets me, is that the Cotton Bowl is sticking its dick in every LSU fan's face, expecting them to taste it to start off the '13 season against TCU.
The TAMU invite is explained away as marketing of Manziel and the Heisman, but that wouldn't have mattered for the sake of Texas, had they made the game. They would have been spared.
But, once Oklahoma falls into the game, they didn't hesitate to slight LSU. And, yet our fans will gobble up their personal protein to the tune of thousands of dollars per fan in Dallas, gleefully spending what's left over from Obama's share.
Birmingham and Dallas love doing business with us.

Chick bowl has LSU with exclusive rights.
Good to be put in the proper place by the SEC.

Yes and that is why Alabama plays the easy schedule. Two more tough games and losing one of them makes a big difference in where you end up.

I hate playing top 25 teams on prime time national television in the nicest football stadium in America.

The stadium is nice, but the venue doesn't top Atlanta.
The convenience logistically of the Georgia Dome makes it a much better trip than Dallas, and there really is no debate.

I have absolutely no clue what you're saying here, and I'm going to assume you're drunk, and a fan of some other team.

What other game on our 2012 schedule would Bama have lost?? S. Carolina? Florida?? Didn't most of ours key injuries occur in OOC games?? BAMA played GA this year who we did not play. And beat them. Schedules, playing Bama twice should be non factors in making it to BCS title. We played GA twice in 2003 and took care of business then. Guess I am in the minority on this unfairness deal.

You don't sound very informed on the makeshift schedule this year and next, and you throw around S.C. and Florida like they're directional schools.
What did Alabama do against S.C. the last time they played?
How would Alabama and Georgia have met in the SECCG, if they had played as regularly scheduled this season?

I am very aware of the make shift schedule. I just think you go out and take care of bidness and none of that matters.

Birmingham loves them some DIGGY!
So, you would have been fine with Boise St. playing for the BCSNC every year, too.
There's 120 something FBS programs, and they play a 12 game schedule. It's impossible to make schedules fair for everyone under these circumstances.
But, when your conference has won the last 6 titles, 7 pending, I would think it reasonable that every effort would be made to at least try to balance your own conference's schedules amongst 14 teams, with 12 games to play.
This was efficently done in the past, cross divisional common opponents aside. Things balanced out over time. But, there's no excuse for what was done this year and next.
If taking care of "bidness" means going out and beating Bama when you had the chance, we did that last year, with the same results.
The '72 Dolphins would eventually have lost, if put under the right circumstances.
