Is it worth getting 5? I've heard it is good but I don't want to buy it if it is not that much different.

i bought civ 5 last steam sale and it blows. great graphics, but this whole diplomatic linear style doesnt mesh well. i liked the finer details and smaller controls of 4 better. its worth the hit in graphics to go back to 4.

i find that i dont care about replaying scenarios in 5.

Civ V has grown on me. I like the combat much better this go around. No more stack of doom. But they streamlined a bunch of shite. IV is still the better overall game.

I'd imagine the next few add-ons to Civ 5 will balance it out, I wasn't too fond of Civ 4 until the last expansion (BtS) came out and found a nice balance.

I like V but I never played IV.

someone on here told me not to get gods and kings and get nights mod instead. Nights mod is pretty fun and challenging.

God's and kings re-added religion and espionage and is in general a great expansion. I personally think 4 was better for its time but I couldn't go back.

I'll be honest, I'm not very good at the game. I don't know how the computer creates huge armies at the same time as having all the advancements for its cities. I wish I could find a Civ that is somewhere between a PC and console version. I like the one on xbox but it is too dumbed down for me. The PC is too much micro fricking managing for me.

Civ does take some getting used to, but if you
1. Control resources
2. Keep your people happy
3. Build defensive buildings and units
Then you shouldn't have too much trouble.

That's pretty much what I do. They just always have more units than I do.

Two different types of games for me. I like AOE and C&C games more though.

Definitely get Nights. It makes the game play much more like 4 and fixes alot of 5s problems. I hated G&K vanilla but nights makes it infinitely better. You HAVE TO play aggressive though. Pick a victory path and stick to it. If you try to be a jack of all trades you'll never complete a game.

I might try nights mod tonight, though I've thoroughly enjoyed g&k vanilla
