I thought he was a 2012 recruit and would count against the 2012 class, not the 2013 as rivals is showing.

Yeah, but since he failed to qualify last year, he went to Hargrave and will report to us in January, without having any eligibility exhausted, thus he will technically be considered a 2013 guy.

Thanks.

This may be an irrelevant question but can he qualify for a redshirt (if needed)?

Yes, he can still redshirt, although I doubt he will.

Although he will be a 2013 recruit since he failed to qualify last year, he will count back to the 2012 class. LSU only signed 21 last year and can count 4 back to last year, giving them the option to sign 29 this year.

We might want to save a couple of those for next year since LA is so stacked next year. Seriously though.

Right, but Rivals and other recruiting services don't factor in EEs to signing classes though. So while he will count, in terms of scholarship limits, for the 2012 class, Rivals lists him as a 2013 signee.

I think that's their plan.

Of course they did. He would have been bumped to a 5* if he was signing with Alabama.

It's justifiable. He quit football at Hargrave to make sure he has his academics in order for him to get to LSU on time.

I know Bama gets ribbed for Rivals Bias, however, after they beat ND, they will have won 3 National titles in 4 years equaling LSUs school record of 3 National Championships.

They are raking in talent left and right under Saban, that's undeniable.

I think some people forget we were in the NCG last season as well.

That's without being Rival's #1 recruiting class the last few years. We never get credit for the talent we bring in like some other schools, but we are always right them with them.

We didn't lose that game because we were out-matched with talent, we lost because a poor gameplan and predictability.

I don't like it but we must give the devil his due Satan has a very talented team. They match up well against us every year and how the ball bounces and who buys the refs dinner determines the outcome most every year. Hope Nicke's greed gets him another shot at the NFL so he can stay out of La recruiting, he is a factor since he has old ties to the area from when he coached here.

I see this over and over on this board. Why do posters here think a person who has already set out a year is going to redshirt. Numerous people kept saying the same thing about Jeremy Hill. Hell, I even saw a question a day or two ago about Fanhika redshirting.

Exactly. Not sure your reasons are the same as mine but as the other poster said, he didn't play this year and based on the last thing any scouts saw from Avery he was no better than a 3* prospect. Very average Sr season and basically a no show at the all star game and practices. His 4* ranking last year was purely hype and talent based. He's talented and if motivated can be very good at LSU but he was not very good last year and if he comes to LSU with the same mindset he had last year then he'll be walking the sidelines for 4 years.
