But having to big guys that can actually catch the ball will really help Rettig and/or Jennings.

(If he can qualify and we accept his commit, fingers crossed)

Our coaches can hardly use 1 TE, you think they gonna go all New England Patriots with 2 TEs in the future? I doubt it. I'm happy with 1 TE that has good ball skills. With Dickson and Smith on campus, we should have at least 1.

Happy with one, but would be happier with more.

McNeil is more of an all-around guy. Smith is more of a pure flex TE.

Considering Smith will actually be part if this class and McNeil has a lot of work to do, I say Smith>

Smith is the pass catching flex TE.
McNeil is the more well rounded in line blocking/some pass catching TE

I like smith as the better prospect (and hes already in this class and definitely gonna make it to campus) but McNeil has some great potential as well

Think of McNeil as a bigger and better Cethan Carter whom the staff likes a lot.

What team have you been watching? LSU runs two and three TE sets all the time. What if these guys could actually be threats to run a route, get open, and make a catch. Would enhance run game as well as overall offensive effectiveness.

New England Patriots lite! Won't it surprise the hell out of defenses when two guys they expect to block are running free down the middle seams.
