I don't care about the shitty back story or the semi elevated price I have truly enjoy the orphan lineup. Even blowhard...while not the best and a bit too old it's different and I like to mix it in from time to time.

sidecars tonight

FYI, Ruth's Chris serves up a mighty fine SideCar.
You should try it out. Don't know about the BR location, but the Laffy location makes good one.

A few yrs ago, I was out with my wife and a few of her friends for a Christmas party. Stopped by Ruths for a few drinks, on the way to the party. The girls all order their Grey Goose Cosmos but are intrigued by my Sidecar (double entendre insert hell yea), and all re-order a Sidecar.

Made with vodka and Tuaca (Italian) Brandy plus a few other things

It's a good cocktail worth trying.

Hello gentlemen, Long time lurker first time poster on this thread.
Last Friday, I tried the Aberlour A'bunadh. I generally love every thing Aberlour makes, so I figure this would be the same. It was very different from this other whiskys in the line. I am guessing it is due to the traditional method of filtration rather than the cold filtration used in modern standards. I am now interested in trying other whiskys using the traditional method versus their newer counterparts. Any suggestions?

Yep, I was really hoping to see mention of it in this thread. Something along the lines of "this guy at Endymion was mixing pappy with coke and pouring it like Crown."

Calandros had a Four Roses single barrel that was non-chill filtered. think they have some left. there are several other barrel proof bourbons out there that are not.

So what's in a sidecar? I've heard the term but never knew what it contained.

I'll do a Manhattan or a Sazerac from time to time, otherwise give it to me neat. For some reason I have never been much of an Old Fashion fan. Perhaps I just havnt had a good one.
