what are your thoughts on black maple hill?

Here's some notes from my tasting of it back around Christmas. Overall, it's a pretty good one, but it's often a love/hate thing for many people.

Nose: Tanginess, forward corny notes, cocunut, maple syrup, honey
Taste: Much like it smells, tangy and corny, honey and maple flavors and black cherry flavor, sour then it becomes a little spicier and woody
Finish: Moderate length, maple syrup, smokey oak

i thought handy was going to be rough, but it really wasnt bad. The more you drink of it the better it gets.

I'm starting to wonder whether I've got a split personality living in Florida. Username is close and similar taste in whiskey. I've got to keep a better wrap on these personalities.

It's a pretty eclectic whiskey that's definitely not for everyone. I will drink it on occasion mainly b/c one of my buddies loves it, but it's definitely not something I go seeking.

dang, good price. yea, the "collectors" are the ones you want to find, not the bottle flippers.

Went to 4 more stores tonight. Central Florida is the worst place to look for bourbon. This town sucks. Been too Atleast 12 stores and only one had rare items.

I'm going on a family vacation to Florida soon. I always try to check out local stores to try to find something different. I guess I can just not worry about it then.

good luck with that, it's hotter then hell out there. The only decent place I have found to look for bourbon was Joe's liquor at the end of sand lake rd.

If you need any outside places to eat send me and email thebeardtd at gmail

Not too worried about the heat. My family is one of those that goes often and we've been many times in the summer. Hit the parks as they open and be gone by around noon. Go back to the hotel to rest and swim (and let dad drink bourbon). Then go back to the parks around 5 or so. Avoiding the hottest and most crowded part of the day is definitely the way to go.

I think i'll be bringing an EH Taylor small batch with me for trip.
