I have a colt 45 M1991 A-1. I recently got my CCL and want to get a good holster. Your suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

crossbreed holsters are the way to go...especially for a 1911. Will be very comfortable to wear.

My vote is Crossbreed, I carry my 1911 in it and its very, very comfortable.
However, there is another company, not sure of the name, someone on here can help, that makes the exact same style, but they offer the ability to switch out the covering in case you get a new weapon or want to carry another one.
If you do go with Crossbreed, go with the SuperTuck Deluxe

So for guys having to wear slacks and tucked in button down how do you conceal carry?

Wear a jacket or a sweater.

If you have to wear slacks and a button down tucked in, then you could probably get by with a sweater or jacket.
I think its the quikclip, maybe another one of their products, allows you to untuck your shirt just a bit to cover the weapon, but I dont know about that.
IMO, ankle holsters arent practical for everyday carry, so maybe pocket carry would be the way to go with a smaller weapon in that case.

No real way to do it without untucking your shirt. Crossbreed claims you can pull your shirt out and make it baggy around the bottom when tucked in to conceal but this looks horribly sloppy and still doesn't full hide the weapon. Just wear polo shirts untucked.

has anyone seen the compression type warp that goes around your chest...and the gun fits nicley under your arm pit area...
Can't think of the name of it, but have seen it a couple of times at the gun shows.

I am not a big fan of shoulder carried weapons as they result in many shooters killing themselves. When you draw a weapon, if right handed, from under your left armpit you naturally flag yourself with the weapon and when your adrenaline is pumping it is very easy to shoot yourself in the chest. Many departments no longer allowed shoulder holsters.

Frat tuck
JK
It is possible to tuck with the Crossbreed just not very neat. My favorite is my Galco Belt Holster at about 4:00 with untucked shirt. By far the most comfortable that I have found for me

There are a lot of tuckable holsters on the market now.

I would like one that I carry in the small of my back instead of more to the side. I am right handed could I get a left handed Crossbreed and mount it in the small of my back?

You could but then your are 100 times more likely to shoot yourself in the kidney while drawing since you will be forced to point the gun at your back to draw

Not sure what you mean. Why couldnt you draw and keep it pointing down while you bring it around your side?

Don't really see much difference in the draw. Slight difference. on the side I am pulling up and and out. With the small of the back pretty much the same motion just in a different direction.
