Definitely not true. I'm an average shot at best.

Don't know.

Why aren't there any ducks in our holes?

Is it true that ducks really don't like to land in the rice stubble?

For years we had no success buffaloing small holes in rice fields in Arkansas. We had to have big sheet water to have good hunting. I know some people in South Louisiana have had luck with the small holes in a field of stubble but I never have. Oh and the mallards are definitely in the South right now. N Texas and OK are fairly loaded with them.

How you going to flood the fields when the ditch you're pumping from is dry.

Could this be the issue why much of the entire farm has no birds? I guess I'm mostly baffled as to why the Delta would hammer ducks all weekend and Angelina has nothing. Of the north end of the farm there are 2 blinds (out of the 9 or so on the north end) that are the best BY FAR. One of them killed 6 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. Don't know what the other did. Something has to be going on?

Our former lease had the farmer play this game one year in the early 2000's. We went from killing 1500 birds in 2001 to less than 50 in 2002. The only difference in the field prep was he rolled small holes instead of rolling the entire field. I'm sure like most farmers he was trying to take the cheapest route to appease us but it was a huge failure. Another lease I was in tried this in 2009 during the first half of the season. We killed 6 birds. I approached the farmer after Xmas and told him we had to have sheet water. We rolled the entire field out over the new year and killed 300 in January. In my opinion it made a huge difference.
