You can do better than this.
Get a WD Red 2TB @ 7200 for 109 from NewEgg.

Only downside to this is that the 8 series is right around corner. The rumors are really starting to pick up steam from every tech outlet.

Really not needed if you don't have a great pair of cans. I have a Essence and can notice the difference on my Beyerdynamic 880s but not so much on my SteelSeries headset.
I suggest purchasing it just for the ease and control you have on your audio output/input.

No such thing.
I would not buy a dedicated sound card myself.

You need to be on a Discovery Show.

Searched but seems to be out of stock? I see it is also refurbished, I will buy anything refurbished except a mechanical HDD.

Oh...I didn't see the refurb part. My bad and I agree on not buying a refurb HDD.

I fixed the link on that HDD and it's in stock and I am not seeing the refurb part.
ETA: It's not a refurb unit as best as I can tell

Yeah not the same one that came up in my search.
Sorry.
That is a great deal.

OP, what sort of case do you prefer? Do you want it to look like a techno club while playing or just prefer something simple?

If your budget allows it I suggest a Fractal Design R4 or even much more a Silverstone.
Corsair has some pretty simple cases under $100 in their Carbide Series.

Yea you can get the R4 without a side window for $79.99 on NewEgg?
ETA:
Yep that is it. I have the exact same case for the home server. Best case I have ever purchased and really sold me on Fractal Design cases.

I wouldn't waste money on a sound card, especially a $70+ dollar one.
The onboard sound will be absolutely fine.

1. Looking for a simple case with good airflow
2. Won't be getting the sound card
3. Gonna research more into getting a better deal on storage. I still have more hw to do on all of these parts, looking for cheaper deals, etc. This is just a starting point.

What stout posted is almost as good as it gets.

be sure to get a large case. if you get a smallish one, this cooler will be a problem. i actually built a system for some kid not too long ago and it wouldnt have worked out if his case (his choice - not mine) didnt have a plexiglass insert with air holes - had to drill them out to allow the heat pipes to come through the case
id also echo the advice on gpu and storage from coyote.
