Youngest coach in FBS now, only 6 years of coaching experience, and never been higher than a WR coach but it's Western Michigan so what does it matter.

He probably would be the NIU coach now if he didn't resign the next day after accepting the OC job to go to Tampa with Schiano.

That isn't a very clear sentence.

He accepted the job as OC at NIU.

Changed his mind. Goes to Tampa instead.

Could've gotten promoted when Doeren left.

They had to push his press conference back a day because his wife went into labor.

Also, he may be slightly younger than Kingsbury, but he's got 3-4 more years coaching experience. He's also the first NCAA HC to be born in the 80's. Feel old.
