re: Official AR-15 thread

You have to build it at that point.

BCM is continually getting items in stock. Just wait for them to pop up.

ETA: Way late on the post. Ill fix it tomorrow.

I had DPMS AR with a redfield scope in hand ready to buy($1,299 brand new) when I learned that Fin fur and feathers in ohio only sells to residents and residents of bordering states.

I posted it almost immediately after seeing it on slickguns. Know anything about that brand?

I am not 100% sure what this guy is saying about his M16 carrier group? Is he saying that the bottom is not milled out and will support a full auto sear?

The guy in the Global Tactical is talking about his M16 bolt. I am asking is he implying that it will support a full auto sear. AR15 bolts have the bottom milled out and will not reset the hammer. M16 bolts do not have the milled out piece and reset the hammer for full auto fire.

Just ordered, said 3-5 days if anyone is curious.

ETA -- Some comments say they see its not supposed to ship until February, so there could be a delay. Nothing new with what is going on right now.

Consulted with burgeman, who is waiting for BCM to come in stock, but this will do for my first build. At the very least, I am sure I could turn it over and fund the BCM in this market, especially since they upped the price to $225 for the NRA contribution.

It will still just shoot semi-auto even with a full auto bolt carrier. They are interchangeable in the AR-15. Your receiver however will not accept the auto sear due to a shelf that is in the bottom. THat would have to be machined out and an auto sear added for the gun to rock and roll. Pretty sure it is legal to install a M16 bolt into a AR15.

Perfectly legal. Some competitive shooters like the full auto bolt because it is heavier than the semi-auto and helps with reducing felt recoil.

Anybody know if the mossberg tactical .22's are alright or should I pay the extra money for a ruger? Could get a new ruger or a more expensive used one. TIA

I would pass on the Mossberg. I know 2 guys that had them and had issues. I have an M&P 15-22 that has been issue free and is fun to shoot.

re: Official AR-15 thread

buddy of mine ran up on a STUPID good deal on a S&W AR... but he may later buy a new barrel with a 1:7 twist rate. anyone had experience with replacing a barrel? is it as simple as buying the barrel you want and taking old one out and installing it yourself? are there other parts required to make a switch?
