Picked up a new 1.5-4x a while back. Played around with it a lot this weekend and I'm liking it a lot.

It feels VERY close to my old red dot. I was a little worried with it not being true 1x, but I can still pick up a target just as quick as I used to with my red dot.
And I'm definitely more confident with long range shots now.

I have been wondering what optic to put on mine for awhile. I will probably shoot closer than 100 yds most of the time but on my land I have easy access to shoot 300+ and want to be able to. So I have been looking at the 1-4x. Any thoughts? How is the "forgiveness" when quick firing a 1-4 or any other low mag scope?

So if I order a lower online and have it shipped to a gun shop in town, should I get with the store before I do so? Or is it normal to just ship it then do all the legal stuff after?

I would check and see if the pickup spot has their FFL with the online store. I always call ahead both places to make sure they will work together. I then call the pickup store again to let them know its on the way, and leave my contact info with them.

That's what I did. It was really just to make sure they knew it was coming. The site already had their info.

Definitely call and also ask what they charge for a transfer. I think most shops charge $15-$20. My Dad's friend is an FFL and he's never charged me so I'm not positive on that price. Someone else can confirm.

Soul, last time you posted the link, I got in on the 1-6. Turned out to be a real nice scope.
Also, I can't remember if it was you or not, but I thought you had recommended the SLR rails to me a while back. Well, I put one of them on my 300, and absolutely love it.

Nice! Which one did you go with? I have the 15" Solo on my 16" Mega build, hands down my favorite rail.

Not as forgiving as your more expensive options. If I'm going to run it at 1x constantly, I'm going to have to be very consistent on cheek weld. I've mounted it on my 15-22, and am mostly using at 6x's magnification from a bench rest.

My 300 with less than half the real estate as yours. I'm thinking of replacing my 5.56 SBR with one as well.

I'm waiting on my vortex pst 1-4x to come in and I just ordered the pa 1-6x so I will do a comparison when they get here. Should be interesting
