to Spags
It took a while but things are coming together nicely now

-The shutout was the Saints’ first since a 12-0 win against the New York Jets on Dec. 24, 1995 and the first at home since a 27-0 win against the Los Angeles Raiders on Dec. 16, 1991. It also was the 13th shutout in franchise history.
-Prior to Sunday, the Saints had not held an opponent scoreless in a half this season.
-The win makes the Saints 4-3 at home this season and guarantees them a fifth consecutive season with at least a .500 home record. The last time the Saints did that was from 1989 through 1993.
-The Saints swept the season series with the Bucs for the first time since the 2006 season.
-The margin of victory was the third largest in franchise history. The largest was a 62-7 victory against Indianapolis last year and a 42-0 win against Denver in 1988.
-The Saints had five takeaways and no turnovers. --The turnover margin was the largest the Saints have had since a 2003 game against Tampa Bay.
-Drew Brees completed 26 of 39 passes for 307 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. It marked the 19th time Brees has thrown at least four touchdowns in a game.
-Brees has 33 career touchdown passes against Tampa Bay, his most against any opponent.
-Brees extended his NFL record of games with at least 20 completions to 50.
-Mark Ingram rushed 14 times for 90 yards, one yard less than his career high (last year against Indianapolis). His 31-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was his longest of the season.
-Marques Colston now has 68 receptions on the season. With two more catches, Colston will have at least 70 receptions in four consecutive seasons.
-Joseph Morgan had two catches for 61 yards. All of his last eight catches have gone for at least 27 yards.

Besides a few missed tackles, yesterday was just a domination that I really enjoyed watching. I think a lot of us fans needed to see that. Esp when talking about the def.

What pisses me off worse, was seeing Atl shut out NYG right after we got waxed by the G-Men.

Best game the Saints have played all year.

Give the game ball to Freeman. He thought our defensive backs were on his team.

It was a great game on offense and defense. There were a few moments on special teams that were scary after last week.

I'm not ready to say the defense has turned around though. One good week doesn't make a good defense. Same way that a bad week or two doesn't make Drew a shitty quarterback.

Not ragging on the defense, but Freeman had a really bad game. Really bad game. I liked the way the defense played stout against the run though.

blues, do you think the Saints try to resign Ellis? I can't see it happening after this game with Hicks and Johnson played.

Seeing that he has collected $33.5mil from the Saints I might would offer him his vet minimum of $715K in 2013 if he is a great clubhouse/team guy. He certainly hasn't been earning his $450K per game this year. Wanna get sicker? He collected almost $12K per snap in the Giants game.

Stranger things have happened than the Saints drafting a DT next year (Hankins, Sheldon Richardson etc) but I'm down for going with Hicks, Bunkley, Johnson, and whatever other big bodies you can have on the cheap.
