Have you shot one?

Since guns seem to be the topic everywhere, I thought I would ask. Has anyone shot the S&W 500? For some strange reason I find myself wanting to get one of the short barrel versions, and I dont really know why.

They discontinued the snub versions of the 500. They're extremely expensive.

I shot a 44mag with 7.5" barrel. That was enough for me.

I got a ruger super blackhawk with the 7" that is literally the best shooting gun I have but no way in Hell can you carry it concealed LOL

My buddy had one with, I think, an 8" barrel. Wasn't as bad to shoot as I thought it would be. I think the weight has a significant factor in that

.357 Mag in small doses is all I can tolerate.

they arent that bad to shoot.
unless you have a light barrel on an encore, then they are a bear to shoot. its bark is worse than its bite to me.

I have shot a 460V. The shock wave that you can see is pretty cool. The sound is something you can't imagine. However it was fun as hell to shoot!
It is definitely not a gun for beginners, but if you grip it right the recoil is manageable. It is a great choice for someone that wants to do some handgun hunting.
