Ummm, maybe the guy just wanted to keep coaching high school ball rather than have the pressure and time constraints of the college level? You guys care way too much about this crap. Go do something.

Says the guy on a college football internet forum.

Yeah, and in other news, Gus and Butch was Auburn and Tennessee's first choices as head coach.

This guy knows that Auburn is going to continue to crash and burn under Gus. How bad is it Auburn fans when a High School assistant coach turns down a job at Auburn. This Gus hire will set Auburn back 10 years.

IDGAF if the anti-Christ himself comes to Auburn and gets caught imbezzaling orphan money and channeling it to Al Quieda, I would never turn down the opportunity to make several, SEVERAL hundred thousand dollars to stay in a freaking HS coaching job.......

Unless he is a Bamer pipeline corch. Then yes, he should stay put.

For all the people saying the guy didnt have a offer, what exactly would he gain by turning DOWN the offer??? Why would he lie about Gus offering him a position???

Of course the school is gonna say he never had a offer...

he didn't have an offer. if he and gus were friends as he says they would have conducted this in a more private professional manner where he didn't get out in front of the state and say, "hey look how committed i am to high school football here".

1. Welcome to yesterday.

2. Go back to Berlin.

3. Wrong board, dumbass.

4. Multiple reports say there was never an offer.

By line is from today genius. Only reports saying there was never an offer are from Auburn sunshine pumpers. DIAF

They said he didn't have an offer before information of his "decline" even came out.

But whatever.

Exactly

Phillip Marshall: Hey Coach Malzahn, did Bobby Bentley take the job?

Malzahn: No. I need you and the rest of the sunshine pumpers to get out ahead of this one today and report that there was never an offer.

I don't know of any HS football coaches in Mississippi that would not jump at a chance to coach in the SEC. Maybe y'all compensate coaches differently in Alabama, but this is just insane if it happened. Something kept him there more than "being commited to HS football". We are talking about a difference in the order of $40,000ish a year in HS to $500,000 to $750,000.00+ a year in college. Even if he sucked he is still a million+ ahead before he is forced out. Then he can go back to coaching HS.

Tubbs is the best coach Auburn has ever had and they let a drunk with a rotten liver talk them into firing him.
Dye is. 4 SEC championships, 1 season that AU arguably deserved the championship, 1 heisman, and some of the best defenses I will ever see. Yes, I understand his staff was apart of a scandal, but I still think he is AU's best coach. TT was pretty awesome though.

He doesn't run it anymore, and even when he did he was pretty much the most down to earth Auburn blog guy on the planet. If you actually read his entries into HABOTN you'd see he isn't in the same category as Lee or Marshall.

Isn't Jay the ginger who went off on the returning vet saying he had just got through fricking the vet's wife and to make sure and ask her to clean up afterwards one night on the blog.
