Domestic Duck and Wild Duck are two different things. Wild duck is very lean. The reason the meat is gamey is because they use their breast muscle to flap their wings. It's a tougher muscle with a lot of blood in it. Domestic Duck don't fly and are fed grain, so the meat is more like chicken, but fattier.
