I got a new lever action about 2 years ago. I've put about 100 rounds through it but it still seems to feel new and not smooth yet. Is their a quicker way to break one in without shooting bunch. Ammo is expensive these days. Tia

You can use lapping compound but its dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. You can put 20 years of wear on it in about 5 minutes. I'm not brave enough to try it.

Just enjoy the newness. It'll get right in 3 or 4 years
