Why do you think there is such a large discrepancy between the # of free throws in away games I.e. LSU 8/11 Idaho 23/31 .seems like it is always like this at any level of organized BB.

LSU shot a TON of 3's last night. Bosie attacked the basket more. You aren't going to get fouled much whenever 50+% of your fg attempts are 3's

Yeah, while it has been statistically shown that in all sports home teams get an advantage on officials calls overall, I think you take each game in context.

Just to call out free throw numbers as a barometer of officiating is done all the time by coaches, but often times there's an overriding reason.

Coaches are under alot of pressure and that's something they can point to in order to rationalize the real defecinecies often times.

Last night it was a combination of a few blatant homer calls and then us playing catchup and fouling trying to steal the ball. JOB did get raped by the refs.

Foul calls in basketball are bogus and always will be. That is the nature of the game.

This LSU team is soft. Johnny O plays kinda physical, but who else? Morgan? Most physical teams get to the line more.

I only know what I heard from Hawthorne and that's certainly dubious.

What Blanton did say is that CJJ warned the team in shoot-around and in the scouting report that Boise will flop off the ball and to be wary of that and heads up off the ball. So kudos to CJJ for identifying that, Johnny needs to listen to the scouting report.

Reasearch shows an away-court disadvantage for all shooting. Plus, referees are more likely to given home calls the closer the fans are to action, hence why basketball gets the most. Combination shows home court in basketball is the most important of the major sports.
