Given what we've seen this year, a pretty strong argument can be made that he is more valuable to the Saints than any player. Shouldn't he be paid accordingly? 12 million? 15? 20 million?

Pay him what he wants. If another team offers him more, match it. If this season proves anything, it's that we NEED CSP to continue making runs at another trophy.

Or maybe Gregg Williams

Sean Payton was 10-6, 7-9, and 8-8 before G Williams.

13-3, 11-5, and 13-3 with G Williams.

GTFO with that shite. Payton's philosophical change in committing more to the run after the '08 season had more to do with that then anything.

Without wiley veterans like Fujita, Sharper, Greer, Smith & Vilma along with hungry younger players like Jenkins & Porter, the '09 defense wouldn't have been the turnover machine it was. Without Sharper & Fujita & Vilma knees beginning to give out on him, Williams complimentary defense wasn't so complimentary anymore. His simplistic blitz schemes & poor evaluations of talent hurt the organization more then it helped. Not mention this little bounty/pay for performance drama he left behind. frick that dude in the arse with a spike dick.

Oh it had a LOT to do with GW. The Saints would have never won the SB without GW. They were the perfect compliment to the Saints offense; especially in '09.

Yes. I'd bet Payton isn't as good without Drew Brees. However, we've witnessed Drew isn't as good without Payton. I attribute some of that to missing camp and off season workouts, but there's a reason Drew is so vocal and pissed off about not having his coach around

Or maybe Brees' pay should be more in line with Payton. The same logic can be applied.

The point is that it is ridiculous to ignore the market for each when determining what they should be paid.

Unless he is a top d-lineman give him league minimum for a coach. He can't do any better than the current coach if the defense isn't upgraded.

Have you seen this offense? Have you seen the predictable, asinine play calling? Have you seen it's inability to make adjustments? Does that sound like Saints football? Now ask yourself who's missing. Idjit.

I don't believe this as a fact. We would have never won the title with Gary Gibbs, but I think we could have still won with a different defensive coordinator.

Pretty sure he's had free reign over every slut in the greater DFW area since his divorce.

Just an outsiders perspective (so I'll probably get blasted) but I think S.P. might have given you guys 1-2 more wins, at best. The issue is that you're best players from the 09 season are either 3 years older and not as good or gone from this team completely.

To put it bluntly - CSP coming back next year doesn't assure you winning the NFC South. You're team just isn't as good as people thought it was this year.

Na if Payton were here we'd have 2-3 losses right now, maybe less.
