It would be nice to see him get out and gain some experience. He played at Alabama, though finished his degree at West Alabama. So we could still call on him down the road. However, he has so many recruiting connections in the state of Alabama. I don't like Jimbo getting anymore of a foothold in the state than he already has with Craig.

We'll see what happens. We have some bigger targets that will hopefully come through. Not sure if Pruitt is ready to take on a DC role.

But then again, I'm sure Jimbo/Saban have spoke about Pruitt.

Pruitt isn't their primary target. He's like 3rd or 4th on their list. That said, he does bring solid experience and he's a fantastic recruiter who covers an area they might be losing soon. I'd be surprised if he gets it (b/c it would mean FSU struck out on some others), but it is great interview experience for him.

Im not sure you want it to happen. Dude is a rising star and an excellent recruiter. They could do a whole lot worse.

I think (emphasis on think) Gatormb89 was referring to FSU hiring Troop. It is considerably less likely than them hiring Bama and hiring TT would actually be funny. Hiring Pruitt would be a stretch and mean they missed others, but he's well thought of in coaching circles.

I was actually referring to both.

Let's face it, FSU is always going to get theirs. No matter if they get Pruitt or not.

Laughing at the Trooper stuff because that dude would be a walking violation in Florida. Especially if they gave him the SFL area.

Agreed. Maybe he could get reunited with Julian Cazanas, Jr to make things happen.

All kidding aside, I think it will be pretty telling about his reputation in the industry to see where he lands - when he does finally land a job

I'm not sure. I just asked about chances Pruitt gets/takes the FSU job and I was told he's at best 3rd on the list and he knows it. He's interviewing for exposure and experience (and the off chances that others say no and he gets a shot, which he would have to take b/c the pay increase and responsibility increase).

after the debacles of Kevin Steele and Sunseri, I'd be pretty hesitant to hire any defensive coach not named Smart.

ETA: you can add james willis to that list as well... complete clusterfk in lubbock after LB coaching in 09.

We're not even sure who our #1 is. There are a lot of rumors going around, but Fisher is playing this one close to the vest

Is Auburn really trying to hire Craig? Didn't he recruit pretty dirty against Auburn?
