Exact reason I'm doing it. And if pain starts, I was told major medical may officially no longer cover it

That's why dentists can do invisalign, and don't have to be orthodontists

As a general dentist, with the proper training, I am able to do full traditional orthodontics and invisilign. The very nature of a generalist is the wide scope of treatments he can provide to his patients. His work has to meet the standard of care for the area that he practices in though.

What is wrong with Sure Smile? Pro/cons versus Invisilgn?

re: Anyone ever used Invisalign braces?

I did it. I had to wear the top ones for 5 months and bottom ones for 9 months. The first couple of days after a new tray, it would hurt pretty bad, then then it was fine.

I didn't wear a retainer afterward though, and my teeth went back to their original position. I wish I had gotten a permanent retainer.

I didn't pay anything for it because it was when it first came out and my best friend's husband who is a dentist, used me as his first Invisalign patient.

re: Anyone ever used Invisalign braces?

I had Invisalign about two years ago. I progressively went through top and bottom liners for about 6 months and then now I just wear the retainer every other night to keep my teeth in place.

The total cost was a little over $4k. My insurance paid $2k, so it only cost me about $2k.

They are indeed invisible. No one will notice you are wearing them unless they are up in your face. You do speak with a little of a lisp, but it's not too bad.

I would recommend them.

Sure Smile is something that goes along with braces to help speed up the process. It made me go from 18 months to 16 months for $600..

My dentist sent me to an oral surgeon and he said both my jaws need to be broken. Said average 7G a jaw. Thats not counting the braces before and after. Have about a quarter inch gap on my left side where my teeth don't touch, can only eat on my right side and those teeth are grinding down. Do you remember how much all your work cost? How was the recovery?
I can basically stick my pointer finger between my front teeth because my jaw has made them go haywire. A year ago, everything was perfect and I could actually bite down on things. I can't eat pizza, tacos, etc now and it took 1yr to get to that point. My doctor sent my X-rays to the guy that invented Invisalign and he said I was a perfect candidate. Point is, just about every doctor is gonna say that they can fix something. Get a few opinions from very well respected people before doing anything.
