Great haul for Cleveland

Bauer for a year of Choo is a pretty good haul for Cleveland.

Tons of filler in this trade.

Great value for the Indians. Can't believe DBacks dealt Bauer already.

Arizona gets their SS so won't be trading Upton. How long until Hamilton signs with Texas?

Choo had some good years in Cleveland but hasnt been as good the past 2 years. Solid outfielder though.

I LOVE this trade for the Reds. Choo had a bad 2011 and that seemed to distort peoples views. He has had an OPS+ of 130 or higher 4 of the last 5 years, with 2011 being the bad year. His RBI's are down but the Indians suck, thats not his fault. He had 43 doubles last year and he's a .380 career OBP guy. His defense will be a little suspect but this is a solid defensive team so it will hide it somewhat, plus GABP isn't exactly Safeco. Choo will have 105+ runs next year in this offense. Im excited.

He has some serious control issues and apparently is quite a dick about being coached.

He may play CF occasionally but he will stay in RF the majority of the time. Don't wanna wear out a bat like bruce playing CF.

This. He sounds like a huge douche after we sent him down to AAA after his brief stint in the bigs. As someone in this thread said, he wasn't very receptive to the coaches and making adjustments. Big potential though. I don't know anything about this SS we got in return but doesn't seem like we got much back considering Bauer's potential.

1. You don't mess with a young, talented to player just coming into his own. A position change would be senseless.

2. He's not athletic enough to play CF (range).

3. You want his arm in RF.

Choo would have been perfect for the Braves.

Blech.

They knew all this when they drafted him, nothing he's done has been a surprise to anyone. If you pick a guy 3rd in the draft, especially a very good draft there's almost know way you should be trading him this soon.

Kevin Towers(D'backs GM) says Gregorious reminds him of a young Derek Jeter. This guy doesnt have a clue what he's doing.

Bauer was only the #3 pick in the Draft.

He only went 12-2 with a 2.42 ERA at Triple A last year with 157 K's in 130 IP.

He's only 21 years old.

God the DBacks are fricking retarded.

THIS.

So what? the guy's a prick. You give him longer than that to develop into a great pitcher in the bigs.

Lots of pricks have done well in baseball and it's not like you have to marry the guy.

I loved Choo, but we had no shot of resigning him. I think this is a great move for the tribe.
