Any suggestions would be appreciated...here's the scenario: we are having a dinner in New Orleans for my mom's 60th birthday. She is wanting a nice restaurant where we can book a private room. The problem is, most places she has called only have private rooms upstairs, and no elevator, which will be a problem for 2 family members. Are there any places with private rooms either downstairs or that have an elevator?

Luke and Domenica have a private room that is only up or down 2-3 stairs.

MiLa has an area of their dining room they can curtain off. Not sure how big your group will be but Calcasieu has a wine room that holds less than 20 people. Calcasieu has an elevator.

Sorry I meant to include that. It's only about 10-12 people

most places aren't going to give you a private room for this much. Antoine's is about one of the only places that comes to mind.

Coming from an Italian family we sometimes went to tony angellos for occasions like this. It's not fancy by any means, but kind of old school Italian feel. I always enjoy it. They have a back private room that seats about 10-12.

I second Domenica. Had a Christmas dinner 2 years ago and it was great.

I second the Antoines suggestion. They have private rooms all over the place. The older crowd will love the place.

Le Foret has some various sized rooms upstairs and has an elevator. I believe Broussard's has some rooms for various sized groups, also. I think they may be downstairs.

Agree on Emeril's wine room. It's downstairs, I believe.

We had the "stairs" issue when we were looking for our rehearsal dinner restaurant. Antoines has some options downstairs and August has an elevator where private dining is available upstairs. I also noticed the other day that R'evolution has a private dining room and the whole restaurant is downstairs. Their private room appeared to have one long table put together with about 15 or so people in there.

Le Foret has 3 floors above the restaurant that host different size private dinners. Obviously with an elevator.
