I don't know that was much of an issue.

I didn't imagine that it was. I just noted the line in the article that seemed to be alluding to such. I suppose the demons he was wrestling went much deeper than that.

There was definitely some N vs S La playing out in the Woodley/Ensminger battle. Woodley was from Shreveport, Ensminger was a homegrown BR product. Which one you backed had a lot to do with where you were from. If you think there's a division in the state now, before I49 it was like two different planets.

I agree 1000%, but you'll get quite a revisionist opinion here.

i was one of those "Team Woodley" dicks. It was sad when he died, drove himself to the Hospital to die from his failing liver transplant.

Also Woodley played more of the JJ role, i.e. more mobile, whereas Ensminger was the JL pocket passer type. I was a little surprised that Woodley had the more successful NFL career (by far).

Woodley could fly, he played some DB, had a cannon for an arm. Prolly more suited for todays NFL offenses. Fine athlete.

This thread got me thinking about old times and looking around the house. In my closet, I still have a really nice brown leather jacket he left in my car one night while we were out shooting pool at the Cub in SHV. Never would take it back. Long time ago.

I didn't realize Woodley had passed away. My bad.

Pretty much drank himself to death. Even had a drinking problem in college.
