Looks dooshay imo......spf 50 is really easy to put on. I run across folks wearin these in my kayak all the time. The worst ones are the ones that are printed to look like fish.

I think it looks absolutely ridiculous!

I never see anyone wearing those things except for those yippy boys from the city

I wear one on windy and sunny days. It beats putting on and re-applying sunscreen every few hours, mine is just a solid color though.

it will also cut down glare off of your face which is important when sight fishing.

Okay....wind seems to be a good use. Unfortunately like anything else idiots latch on to stuff like this and make it look stupid. There's a show that comes on the outdoor or sportsman chanel and the host always has one on, like a necklace.....even when he's not fishing.

Thanks for helping me understand why normal people buy these.

I assume it's because skin cancer sucks
I prefer sunscreen

In the winter if I need something for the wind on the boat ride I just use my hunting stuff, I have plenty of it

They are also good to where as a Bandana in the middle of the summer to absorb sweat. I sometimes just wear it around my neck too because it covers all exposed skin. I'm the type to wear long sleeve shirts when fishing, there is no shade.

That's the one I got so

Made fun of a guy I bring fly fishing and he gave me that one on our next trip. They are actually pretty cool during the summer and I hate reapplying sunscreen all day. I use it more during duck season when I'm making long runs to the blinds, keeps may face from getting scalier than a gators arse. Another bonus is they keep the gnats of my neck and out of my ears, which I can't stand.

All that said, I know I still look gay.

I use one when we go on long days offshore in the summer. Make an ice chest of florida water and keep it dipped in it.

Great lightweight barrier for cold weather. I never wear mine over the face, just the head and ears. Never in summer. Found them last year for $1.98 @ Academy.

Ive never seen a group of men so concerned with what others wear. I dont wear one, but I could see the benefits. Even if I couldnt, I give zero fricks what someone in another boat is wearing.

I bought a cheap Columbia one from Academy on our last trip. There was was an overestimated cold front front on the way. It just got windy. That little thing was awesome. I didn't wear it like the guy in your pic but I kept my ears and neck covered all day from the wind.

I really can't emphasize enough how awesome those things are when the gnats get really bad.
